A. Once we have received the text for your website (usually this is your Practice leaflet,
your newsletters and any other information you have about the practice),
it will take us 10 working days to get you a preview website to view.
A. You can send the updates by email, fax or by post, or you can even phone us with your updates.
A. When your website is ready to go live we will arrange for your domain name to point to our servers.
If you wish we can do this all for you - we won't charge you any extra.
To make sure you get what you want, we liaise with you at every stage so you'll know in advance how your
website will look and how it will function. If you don't like it when it's finished,
then we'll work with you until you're 100% happy.
Your website needs to have the latest design to keep it looking fresh and to incorporate current
technology and standards. If you'd like to take advantage of SiliconPractice' technical and
design expertise but already have a website hosted by another company, it's a simple process to transfer it.
When you're ready, just give us the go ahead, and we'll contact your current host and
make all the arrangements to transfer your website to a SiliconPractice server.

We charge a single fee for our websites - so you know exactly how much to budget for your website.
You can make as many amendments you want throughout the year; you can have as many photos,
videos, documents, and links to external sites as you want - there is no additional charge.
Unfortunately there is no simple way to make a web site rank highly on search engines.
There are, however, techniques that can be used to improve a site's position in the web-rankings.
We can use a variety of techniques including changes to the text, site structure, images,
hidden elements and layout to optimise your site to achieve results.
We are constantly evolving our techniques to ensure that our sites are kept up-to-date and rank highly.
A. We send you an invoice (£500+VAT) when we have designed your site and have sent you a
preview of the site to view. We then send you the invoice for the annual maintenance (£499.00+VAT)
once your website goes live. Invoices are payable within 14 days.
A. Yes, you can have as many photos on your site as you want.
We can even put videos onto your site if you want.
A. Sometimes you will want to change the design of your site.
For instance if your text starts to outgrow the existing design. W
e will happily re-design your website for you, or give your site a "face-lift" so it always
looks fresh and inviting.
A. We'd be very sorry to lose you. If you weren't happy with our service,
we'd do our very best to sort it the problem. If you still wanted to leave,
your payment is for a twelve month period, but you could leave at any time.
A. Silicon Practice owns the design of the website and the Practice owns the text.
If we purchased the domain name on your behalf, this can be transferred to your
ownership at a charge of £30.00 This is the fee that is charged to us by Nominet to effect the transfer.
A. We can link to as many external sites as you wish.
We consider it is good practice to link to external sites to support your text.
When you send us text or amendments, we will can suggest external links to compliment your text.
A. We don't have any advertising on our GP Websites.
Simple textual amendments can normally be done within 24 hours.
If your changes are more complicated, or if you require photos or videos to be put on your site -
these can normally be done within a week.
A. If you wanted to add online services to your website this can be done very easily.
We would send you a demonstration site to experiment with first,
your then chose the services you want and then we customise the wording of each of the services
to suit your way of working. The Online Services are charged separately.
A. We are very happy to put on a link to EMIS Access onto your site.
A. You will have direct access to usage statistics giving you up-to-the-minute
statistics of the number of people who used your website, the pages they visited,
together with the date and time they visited.
A. We make sure your website will be accessible to those with special needs,
such as the visually impaired. We make sure it encompasses hidden commands so that screen 'readers' and
Braille machines will operate correctly.
